This means you’re studying or working and at the same time responding to messages on your mobile, scrolling on Facebook, or going from time to time on YouTube to watch a video.

This will destroy and result in low productivity and focus.

It’s important to know that you are losing 10 min of focus if you just turn your head to see a notification that pops up on your phone.
1 second of distraction = 10 minutes of loss of focus. (THAT’S HUGE !!!)

So, it is important if you want to focus on work. Hide your phone and close the useless tabs on your desktop while working on a task.

You can also follow the Pomodoro technique. This means you work for 25 min and relax for 5 min. You do it 4 times. and after that, you relax for 30 min. All this is without picking up your phone, playing video games, or replying to a message. This is important for the brain to be reprogrammed to focus on work.  You cannot touch your phone until you finish your day’s tasks.

It’s normal sometimes when you’re working, you get a feeling of doing something. Something that is not related to the work you’re doing. Maybe you want to watch something, text or call your friend or family, or walk your dog 🐶

These types of thoughts won’t get out of your head until you do them. But…
There is a solution to that:

  • You will choose an hour in the day specifically for these distractions. (e.g. 7 pm).
  • Take a piece of paper and write down those thoughts.
  • When it’s the time(e.g. 7 pm), pick the paper and start doing those things.

2. Emotions:
Something that makes you angry or sad. Someone you love or can’t stop thinking about it. The desire to watch porn. These thoughts live 90 seconds in your brain, and after that, they die.
