How to Think Faster? Scientifically Proven

How to think faster

1. Why Do I Think Slow? And How to Train Your Brain to Think Faster?

If you want to know how to think faster, you must know first why are you thinking slowly.

Why do I think slow

The difference between a person who thinks faster and another who does it slower is the neurons (Know more about them in the last section “How Neurons Work….”).

Are your neurons sending the messages rapidly or slowly to your brain? Are they letting the brain analyze rapidly? Can neurons be reproduced?

If you want to think faster, absorb a large amount of information quicker and analyze it more rapidly.  There are 3 proteins (BDNF, VEGF, FGF-2) that do this. I will explain to you how they do it.

These 3 proteins help your neurons to deliver the message to your brain rapidly and help you analyze it faster. Moreover, they can increase the amount of neurons you have.

Sport, working out, and exercising are the main factors that increase the amount of these 3 proteins.

It’s okay if you don’t understand all this scientific information, But here is what’s important :

If you are seeking to think faster, you need to exercise regularly.

So Bring your sneakers and go for a run, walk, or whatever. 20-30 minutes per day.

2. What Sport to Play to Think Faster?

What sport to play

Whatever sport. What is important for you is to be able to think faster. So what your body needs is just moving and engaging in a physical activity. Because our body is made to move. (Know more about that in the 4) section below)

 a. Choose a Sport That You Like

This is important as a first step if you want to know how to increase your thinking speed.
You need to stick to the type of sport you choose and not give up easily. Maybe you like :

  • Jogging
  • Bodybuilding
  • Swimming
  • Basketball
  • Cycling
  • Boxing
  • Dance
  • Walking

Most of the time you will find yourself switching from one sport to another, or practicing 2 or 3 types of sports. That’s okay. because the purpose here is not to give up. I want you to stick to one sport that you like so that you can always commit and persevere in it.

This will bring us to our second point which is :

 b. Try Different Sports

If you don’t know or didn’t find what kind of sport you like. Try one by one until you find the winner. So that you can spend your whole life exercising it.

 c. Exercise With Friends

I know some of you don’t like it.  Just try it. Nothing to lose.
If you are exercising with someone you like and whom you are comfortable with, you will enjoy it more.

 d. Exercise Even When You Don’t Want To

if you want to keep thinking faster and benefiting from all that I talked about previously. You need to have discipline. Just 20 min of the walk will do it.

Remember. If you want to think faster, your body needs to move.

Does exercising or working make us study and learn better?

A fascinating experiment was conducted by Naperville High School, Illinois a western suburb of Chicago.  The gym teachers scheduled time to work out before class for the whole year.

The students of this high school took a test in math and science in which they compared their level to other students worldwide. Naperville High School ranked 1st in science and 6th in math worldwide.

All this is because of their innovative workout program. This shows why sport is important to society, and teaches you how to think faster.

4. Why Is Sport Important to Society and How It Is Related to Faster Thinking

Hunter-Gatherers and Faster Thinking

You must know that our bodies and brains are designed in a way to survive in forests. Sounds weird right?

But remember, our ancestors lived in forests and nature. To survive, they were hunting animals, fishing…

A lot of physical engagement in their activities.

And at the same time, their brains also were functioning. They need to be alert, build strategies and traps for hunting, and think of a good place to hide so that they can catch an animal without its notice…

This is why our brain and body work together at the same time. We’re still using the same nervous systems that our ancestors used. (We use them in programming, building a car, studying math…)

The relationship between the body and the brain is still the same!

But we differ in terms of challenges. Nowadays we don’t need to go outside to hunt a rabbit as our ancestors used to do.

However, our bodies still need physical engagement and our brains still rely on our bodies.

How is this related to “How to Think Faster” Mr. Boredom Pill?

Miss/Sir, as I told you, Our brains still rely on our bodies like our ancestors. So if you want to think faster, your body needs to move, exercise, and work out… I’m not telling you to be an athlete or a professional bodybuilder. Just a 20-30 minutes per day walk will do it.

5. How Neurons Work and How They Are Related to Thinking Fast

How neurons work

Listen, the brain has something called neurons (nerve cells). These are like wires. Through them, messages can be sent all over your body to allow you to do everything from breathing to walking and eating… and more importantly, thinking. Because you want to think faster. Am I right?

Let’s say for example you saw an amazing event in the street. Here, your eyes receive an image of it and then send it to your brain through neurons. Your brain analyzes it and understands that it was an event about this and that. This is the role of neurons. They help deliver information. And you can help them deliver it faster.

Having neurons that deliver messages faster to your brain and help you analyze and understand rapidly is crucial. So when you’re telling your friend about that event, you will remember rapidly and most of what happened there.

This was just an example. It can be some important information that you want to retain in school, work,…

Don’t forget to comment if this was helpful. Take care!
